Introduction to Import Price Data

Import Price Data is a tool that helps you to import large amounts of price data quickly.

Enter data into the template file and prepare for import.

The import process consists of the following steps:

  • Download a template file
  • Enter data into the template file
  • Upload a completed file and start the import process

To access the Import Price Data tool, sign in to your Fillet account on the web.

Download a template file

The template file is a blank spreadsheet in CSV format.

After you download the template file, open it and enter your data using your preferred spreadsheet application, for example, Numbers, Excel, or Google Sheets.

Tip:If you need to import prices for several vendors, you can download additional copies of the template file. Then you can use a separate template file for each of one your vendors.


Enter data into the template file

During the import process, you must choose one of the following options:

  • Select an existing vendor or
  • Create a new vendor.

If you select an existing vendor, the imported price data will be added to that vendor.

If you choose to create a new vendor, the imported price data will be added to that newly created vendor.

Before entering any data into the template file, think of the vendor whose prices you plan to import.


Upload a completed file and start the import process

Before you upload a completed file, check that the following are correct:

The file is in CSV format. If not, use your preferred spreadsheet application to export the file in CSV format. The data import only accepts files in CSV format. The data in each column are the correct type of values.
